Rep. Scott DesJarlais reintroduced a bill earlier this month that would prohibit the use of federal funds to support local programs that target FDA-regulated and lawfully marketed foods and beverages. The measure is aimed at some of the anti-obesity funds that were used in the past to fund soda tax and similar lobbying campaigns.
