Fleischmann, DesJarlais, Graves Back Balanced Budget Amendment, But It Falls Short

Reps. Chuck Fleischmann, Scott DesJarlais and Tom Graves voted Friday for a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution, but it did not get the necessary votes. "After casting 859 votes in the United States House of Representatives, I can honestly say that the failure of this bill hurt the most. I've never walked off the House Floor with such a heavy heart." Although I am deeply disappointed that today's legislation fell short of the two-thirds majority needed for passage, I will continue to fight for a Balanced Budget Amendment to our Constitution.
