Representative Scott DesJarlais voted in favor of the National Right-To Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011. The legislation would allow any person with a valid state-issued concealed firearm permit to carry a concealed firearm in any state that issues concealed firearm permits, or that does not prohibit the carrying of concealed firearms. "Our constitution clearly states that in this country we have a fundamental right to keep and bear arms. Protecting our Second Amendment rights was a key promise that I made during my campaign for Congress and I'm pleased that the House has passed this legislation, which I have cosponsored," DesJarlais said in a statement.
