Congressman DesJarlais Attends National Prayer Breakfast
February 6, 2011
On Thursday, February 3, 2011 Congressman Scott DesJarlais (TN-04) attended the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Amy. This yearly event, which is hosted by the United States Congress, is attended by roughly 3,500 guests from over 100 countries, including the President of the United States, the President’s Cabinet, Members of Congress, the U.S. diplomatic corps and other world leaders. Every U.S. President since Dwight Eisenhower has participated in the breakfast.
“I was deeply honored to attend my first National Prayer Breakfast as the Representative from Tennessee’s Fourth Congressional District,” said Congressman Scott DesJarlais. “My faith has played an integral part in shaping the values and principles that have defined me as a person, and will serve as a guiding light throughout my service in the United States Congress. Although many of the people that attended today may differ on ideas of policy, I was glad to see that we could all come together in asking God to bless our country.”
