WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Wednesday, April 16, 2014, the Run Now Relay team met with the office of Congressman Scott DesJarlais, M.D. (TN-04) while traveling through Washington, D.C. on their way to Boston, Massachusetts.
Congressman DesJarlais’ Chief of Staff, Richard Vaughn, delivered remarks on behalf of the congressman, who was in Tennessee at the time.
“I want to commend these men and women for both this remarkable athletic achievement and for supporting such a worthwhile cause,” said Congressman DesJarlais. “The Run Now Relay team truly embodies the volunteer spirit of our state and shows the rest of the world that when tragedy strikes, Americans will do extraordinary things to help one another. I wish them the best of luck as they finish their journey.”
