HOUSE ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE MEMBER REP. SCOTT DESJARLAIS ADDRESSES SYRIA STRIKES

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  House Armed Services Committee member Congressman Scott DesJarlais, M.D., released the following statement, after President Donald J. Trump announced United States military strikes on chemical weapons facilities in Syria.

“The President took necessary measures against dictator Bashar Assad, doing Russia and Iran’s dirty work in Syria. Their chemical weapons program and attacks on civilians are violations of international treaties and also our consciences. I will continue to work with President Trump, the Secretary of Defense and my partners in Congress to protect Americans and support our allies. Right now, Tennesseans are taking great risks to keep our country safe. I am grateful for their service.”
