WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Scott DesJarlais, M.D., issued the following statement today, after attending the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States:

“The energy and enthusiasm in the air in Washington and around the country is palpable. Especially in Tennessee, we’re excited for the next four years, even the next few weeks, as Donald Trump has proven himself a tireless advocate for the principles and policies that will Make America Great Again. He’s a hardworking pragmatist, who will do his best to represent every one of us. In Congress, I’m looking forward to helping President Trump achieve goals we all share: a thriving economy and safe, secure nation.”

Rep. DesJarlais (TN-04) has been hosting constituents from Tennessee in Washington, D.C., this week. He is a new member of the House Armed Services Committee and a returning member of the House Agriculture and Oversight Committees. He recently introduced the Tax Relief for Our Nation’s Heroes Act.
