On Friday, May 30, 2014, Congressman Scott DesJarlais, M.D. (TN-04) called for Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki to resign.

“My first job out of medical school was at a VA hospital. My mother served as a nurse for 44 years at a VA hospital. I am embarrassed and appalled by how our VA system has treated our veterans and I believe Secretary Shinseki should resign immediately,” said Congressman DesJarlais. “But the buck does not stop with the secretary. Whether it is the IRS targeting of conservative groups, Fast and Furious, Benghazi or now the VA, President Obama has shown he is either asleep at the wheel or is unable to manage the federal government. Our veterans deserve better. America deserves better.”
