Scott DesJarlais is trying to head off a new workplace rule that will require employers to prominently display posters containing information about a worker's right to unionize and bargain collectively. DesJarlais, R-Jasper, Tenn., filed legislation Monday that would repeal the new rule, which was finalized last month by the National Labor Relations Board.

Bill introduced by DesJarlais seeks to repeal new labor law

The bill, called the "Employer Free Choice Act," would repeal a law established last year by the National Labor Relations Board that requires manufacturers to display posters containing information on workers' rights to unionize and bargain collectively. The new rule, which if passed would take effect on Nov. 14 of this year, is similar to a law already in place for federal contractors.
